Manchester City Player Arrested in Madrid

Portuguese footballer Matheus Nunes, a recent signing for Manchester City, has found himself involved in a legal incident after being arrested in Madrid.

According to reports from the newspaper 'El Mundo', Nunes was detained on Sunday, September 8, at the La Riviera nightclub for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from an individual who took his picture in the bathroom.

Police officers took the midfielder to the Arganzuela police station, where he was questioned regarding a suspected theft. He was later released with charges, awaiting a trial that will determine the consequences of his actions.

Matheus Nunes, often referred to as the "new Rodri" of Manchester City, has had a remarkable rise in his career. The English club invested €62 million to acquire him from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2023, recognizing his value as a holding midfielder in Pep Guardiola's team.
