Lisandro Martinez's one-word nickname for Brandon Williams after ...

Manchester united FC

Brandon Williams' Manchester United career may have gone off-track but his performances in pre-season have impressed team-mates.

Williams broke into the United first team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but has since struggled to continue his progression at Old Trafford. A difficult loan at Norwich City set the defender back and he could leave the club this simmer.

At the age of 22, he still has the potential to grow and develop, so long as he puts an injury-hit 2022/23 campaign behind him. He would be a potentially cheap signing for somebody on the hunt for a left-back this summer.

There is little point in sending him out on loan again with Malacia already being in place to succeed Shaw in the long term and Alvaro Fernandez also waiting in the wings. Pre-season could be an opportunity for Williams to put himself in the shop window.

That said, Williams has been included in Erik ten Hag's squad for the USA tour and he did well against Arsenal on Saturday. After he posted on Instagram, Lisandro Martinez called him a 'machine' in the comment section.

United fans joined in with the praise, asking Williams to 'let Saka out of his back pocket', referring to his performance against the Arsenal winger.
