Luton Town Ladies are back in Adobe Women’s FA Cup action on Sunday when they travel to Essex to take on Hutton Women.

Its cup action for the third week straight for the inform Luton Town Ladies, who this time head to Essex to take on lower league opposition, Hutton Women, in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round proper.

The Ladies earnt their place in the first round after an 11-0 victory over Chigwell and then a 2-0 victory over St Albans.

After a successful October, not conceding a single goal, they’ll look to make the month of November just as successful, as they look to book their place in the second round.

The opposition

Hutton play their football in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League, Division One South. They’ve had an impressive start to their league campaign, winning four of their five matches. Their fine start sees them sit fourth in the table.

Last time out Hutton fell to a 3-0 defeat in the Eastern Region Women’s League Cup against St Albans.

The Tons went through three qualifying rounds to earn their place in the first round. In the first round qualifying they defeated Clapton 5-3 on penalties, which set up a tie with tier-5 opposition, Enfield Town, which they won 1-0. After two impressive victories, Hutton progressed into the first round proper after defeating Leyton Orient 3-1.

Hutton have proven hard to beat at home this season, falling to defeat in only one of their five home games.

Our last FA Cup tie

Let’s revisit the 2-0 victory over St Albans, which saw us progress to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round proper.

It took us until the 75th minute to take the lead, through who else, but Tasha Fensome. A Fiona Buttigieg corner was aimed towards the back post, where Bridget Adu headered the ball back across the box for Tasha Fensome who headered the ball into the net.

A fantastic late goal from Gabriella Spillman wrapped the game up, collecting the ball on the right hand side, she turned the Saints defender inside out and fired the ball into the roof of the net.
