Joe Deeney’s side came into the game after losing their season opener at Oxford last weekend but after a positive start to the game found themselves behind in the 12th minute.

A series of fine saves from goalkeeper Lucas Thomas kept the Hatters youngsters in the game and they would prove crucial come the second half.

The Hatters were unfortunate to have a goal disallowed midway through the second period when Matt Takawira found the net only to see the effort ruled out.

However, the Town did find a leveller when Takawira showed great composure to cut inside and finish well having taken Dylan Stitt’s pass.

With 11 minutes left on the clock the Hatters then took the lead when an excellent pass from Harry Fox found Benny Benagr and his brilliant first touch enabled him to bare down on goal and finish well.

The Town came close to adding a third but as the game wound down, the Hatters defence stood firm despite late Swindon pressure.

Congratulations, boys!
