Liverpool vs Tottenham simulated for score prediction as unlikely ...

30 Apr 2023

Liverpool could potentially close the gap between itself and the Premier League's top four spots to just four points on Sunday if it can pick up three points against Tottenham.

A 2-1 win over West Ham United last time out saw Liverpool win for a third consecutive game in the Premier League, with the Reds unbeaten in their last five. Their improved run of form has seen Jürgen Klopp's side rejuvenate their hopes of a top-four finish, though the Reds will be relying on other teams dropping points whilst they continue winning.

If Manchester United was to lose to Aston Villa before Liverpool kick-off, the Reds could move four points off the top four with a victory over Spurs. History falls in Liverpool's favor ahead of Sunday, with the Reds unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Ryan Mason's side.

So, could Liverpool continue their winning run on Sunday? Let's take a look.

Liverpool vs Spurs score predicted by simulation:

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Liverpool could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Jota.

We predict that Spurs could line up in a 3-4-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Forster; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Porro, Højbjerg, Skipp, Davies; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

An even first half ended all square at Anfield, with neither side able to grab a breakthrough, despite some big chances at either end. Liverpool came out the better side after the restart though, and grabbed a goal in front of the Kop to open the scoring.

Trent Alexander-Arnold picked out the run of Jordan Henderson down the right with a long ball, and the Reds captain did well to beat his marker before reaching the byline. Henderson pulled the ball back for Mohamed Salah who drilled a pass into the feet of Curtis Jones, and the midfielder produced a cheeky rabona finish from close range to send Liverpool into the lead.

But, minutes later, Liverpool was pegged back to 1-1, with Spurs beating Liverpool's high line to break through on goal before Harry Kane slotted the ball through the legs of Alisson. Klopp introduced Thiago and Luis Díaz to try and tilt the game back into the Reds' favor, and it worked, with the latter restoring the lead.

Luis Diaz made it 2-1 to Liverpool

Alexander-Arnold was excelling in his midfield role, and the Englishman did well to intercept a pass in the middle before launching a ball forward for Díaz to chase. The Colombian beat his marker with ease before surging through on goal, and the winger curled his shot into the far corner to make it 2-1.

Cody Gakpo struck the post moments before Spurs went up the other end and did the same, with Kane missing a great chance to draw level. As Spurs smelt blood, they threw bodies forward, but it left them exposed at the back as Jones grabbed a second to guarantee the three points.

Liverpool hit Spurs on the break once again after Spurs lost possession deep in Liverpool's half, with Thiago leading a four-on-one attack. The Spaniard played in Andy Robertson on the overlap who drilled a cross into the box, and Jones tapped into the net for a big victory

FIFA 23 predicted score: Liverpool 3-1 Spurs

FIFA 23 predicts that Liverpool could grab a third consecutive win, winning 3-1 in the simulation. Díaz impressed off the bench again while Jones kept up his fine form, proving the unlikely hero with two goals.
