Mehmet Ali’s young side are in excellent form, sitting top of the table with 12 points from four games, scoring 12 goals along the way, while Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Josh Nichols, Maldini Kacurri and Ismeal Kabia have had a taste of first-team experience in recent fixtures up with Mikel Arteta's squad.

In our last outing, captain Nathan Butler-Oyedeji’s dramatic winner in the sixth minute of added time secured a 1-0 victory against Stoke City.

A look at Liverpool

Liverpool currently sit sixth in the league, having won three of their four matches. Their victories over Manchester City, Sunderland, and Derby County have earned them nine points.

However, outside of Premier League 2, Liverpool have struggled, losing 4-0 to PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League International Cup and 5-1 to Crewe Alexandra in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
