Didn’t have much chance with either goal and didn’t have to make a notable save, did try and catch a high ball under pressure that he should have punched but a steady game.
Trai Hume: 6/10Mostly had a good game, doing well against a tricky winger but got well out of position for the second goal, then completely missed a tackle just outside the box. Got forward well and put a cross in had a good chance to shoot on the edge of the box but his effort was wild.
Chris Mepham: 7/10Lost his man for the visitor’s first goal, although it was a good cross and slightly offside, but defended well throughout and mopped up well behind.
Luke O’Nien: 7/10Used the ball well at the back and made some important defensive contributions, including a well timed block early into the game.
Dennis Cirkin: 8/10Great game at full back, defended well and provided a lot of thrust bombing forward. His effort led to Rigg’s goal and then put in a good cross that just about evaded Isidor.
Dan Neil (C): 7/10Was in an unusual position of joining into a back three out of possession during the first half, also did well in his usual role just in front of the back four. Put one good cross in for Isidor but the striker could only steer his header over.
Jobe Bellingham: 8/10A good game in the middle of the pitch, used the ball well and found some great positions but the only real downside was that he forgot his shooting boots. Technically got an assist after his header found Browne.
Patrick Roberts: 7/10An up and down game, didn’t always make the right choice and had a spell in the first half where he was giving the ball away too easily but was always causing Leeds issues when he was running at them, had a hand in the first goal and played some good balls around the box.
Chris Rigg: 7/10Right place at the right time to make it 1-0 early on and had some good moments throughout, both going forward and defensively. Also gave the ball away cheaply a few times, one of which led to a booking after turning into Gnoto and having to haul him down as a result.
Romaine Mundle: 7/10Battling performance on the left wing, didn’t always make the right decision but kept going at them for the full 90 minutes. Had one chance but didn’t quite catch it properly and it was an easy catch for Meslier.
Wilson Isidor: 6/10Covered loads of ground up top with very little to work with. Headed one shot well over, just missed a Cirkin cross and was on hand at the ended to watch the equaliser roll in but maybe deserves an assist for pushing a defender into the goalkeeper earlier in the half and giving him a concussion.
Substitutes Alan Browne: 6/10Somehow scored the equaliser with what was pretty much the last kick of the game.
Tommy Watson: 6/10Not many chances to get a run at his man but made an important clearance just after the equaliser.
Man of the Match: Dennis CirkinLooked a little tired against Derby but was at his best today, was really good defensively and made a great block to stop the scoring becoming 1-3 but he was superb going forward too. Had an effort saved before Rigg’s goal, almost picked out Isidor with a great cross and made a number of driving runs up the pitch when we were under pressure.
