Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that Kylian Mbappe has returned back as a different player to the one he was before the international break. Mbappe had an injury concern which meant that he was rested for France's Nations League matches during October.

Mbappe has scored 7 goals in 11 appearances so far for Los Blancos but the defending Champions League titleholders are yet to hit full stride. Speaking to the press, as quoted by Football Espana, Ancelotti said that the 25-year-old used tghe break to improve his condition and is eager to make his return to the team.

“He has taken advantage of the break to improve his condition. He is very well, happy and eager to return tomorrow and be important for the team. These 15 days have helped him a lot, because he has had time to overcome his injuries. Kylian Mbappe is a different player to the one he was before the break,” said Ancelotti.

When asked if it was a physical or mental, Ancelotti said it was the former and his position in the team would not vary.

“Just physical. At a tactical level, his position does not change from how he has played in recent games. His left wing position may vary with Vinicius, but we have been focused on physical work. This break has been good for him and he looks very good to me," said Ancelotti.

Ancelotti refuses to comment on Mbappe's rape allegations

During the international break, Mbappe was in the news as there were rumours that he was involved in a rape probe in Sweden. The French forward's representatives had slammed the allegations, calling them false and slanderous.

Ancelotti, however, said that he wouldn't comment on any speculation and claimed that Mbappe isn't affected by the outside news.

“I’m not here to comment on speculation, I pay no attention to what is said on the outside. I focus on the work he does.”

“I talk to the players every day. I can’t comment on what I have said before, which at this point is speculation. I don’t see him affected at all, with great enthusiasm to contribute to the team. He’s close to 100%. It’s very nice. It’s a pleasure to watch him train,” said Ancelotti.

Real Madrid will face Celta Vigo on October 20, Sunday.
