Following three weeks of no competitive action due to the November FIFA International break and the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup final, Kaizer Chiefs will be back on the field this evening when they host Richards Bay FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The game will kick off another series of three consecutive matches in Polokwane after one game in Johannesburg on 2 November. The game against Richards Bay will be followed by another home game against Royal AM on Saturday, with the last one against Polokwane City the following weekend.

After winning the Home of Legends friendly tournament held in Gqeberha last weekend, a number of players put up their hands after great performances, leaving the coach with a good team selection headache.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi is back in the saddle after missing last weekends friendly tournament due to injury. The Tunisian coach has decided to make six changes to the team that played the last match against Mamelodi Sundowns. There is one enforced change in the teamwhich sees Inacio Miguel replaced by Given Msimango, after the Angolan picked up a red card in the last match. The second change is in the goalkeeping department where Brandon Petersen starts his first game of the season, replacing Fiacre Ntwari. Another player with a first start of the season is midfielder, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, who comes on for Njabulo Blom. Still in the middle of the park, Samkelo Zwane makes way for Yusuf Maart. In attack Chiefs will see Pule Mmodi come in for Gaston Sirino and Ranga Chivaviro is replaced by Ashley Du Preez.

The team will have a 4-4-2 set-up for this evening’s match.

In goal, Chiefs will have Petersen.

Bradley Cross will be on the left of defence, with Rushwin Dortley and Msimango in the middle, and Reeve Frosler on the right.

Mthethwa will partner Maart at the base of midefield. Mmodi is on the left wing and Mduduzi Shabalala will cut in from the right.

Wandile Duba will work with Du Preez in attack.

With Miguel suspended, Maart will reclaim the captain’s armband.

This evening’s match officials are referee Cedric Muvhali, assited by Simukele Jali and Cledwin Baloyi. The fourth official is Sipho Mahlangu.
