Andile Magwaca Wins Toyota Cross at Toyota Cup
Andile Magwaca, a 26-year-old teacher from Nkandla in Kwa-Zulu Natal, has emerged as the ultimate winner of the Toyota Cross competition.
Magwaca's remarkable story is one of determination and luck, which culminated in him receiving the keys to a brand-new Toyota Cross during the halftime draw in the Toyota Cup pre-season friendly match between Kaizer Chiefs and Young Africans SC of Tanzania.
"I was overwhelmed with joy and couldn't believe it when my name was announced as the winner," said Magwaca. "I had entered the competition through Instagram and was shortlisted amongst five finalists, but I never thought I would actually win."
Magwaca's journey to the prize was not without its challenges. Despite being notified that he was shortlisted, he was doubtful about making the trip from Nkandla to Bloemfontein due to financial constraints. However, he decided to tap into his savings to make the trip, which ultimately proved to be a life-changing decision.
"I am thrilled to have received this opportunity from Toyota South Africa Motors," said Magwaca. "Winning this car is a dream come true."
As a longtime supporter of Kaizer Chiefs, Magwaca also wished the team all the best for the season.
"I have always been a loyal fan of Chiefs, and I wish them all the best for the upcoming season," he said.
Kaizer Chiefs and Toyota South Africa Motors congratulate Andile Magwaca on his win and thank all participants for entering the competition.
