ALLEGRI RAGES ON THE TOUCHLINE

VLAHOVIC INSPIRES JUVENTUS TO GO OUT ON A HIGH

Dusan Vlahovic’s early goal proved enough to clinch Coppa Italia glory for Juventus as a 1-0 victory in Rome extended Gian Piero Gasperini’s wait for his first Atalanta trophy.

Juventus led inside just four minutes, Vlahovic showing strength and composure to hold off Isak Hien and finish after racing onto an Andrea Cambiaso through ball.

The Bianconeri defence held firm as Atalanta struggled to muster a response in the absence of suspended top scorer Gianluca Scamacca.

Both sides were denied by the woodwork late on, Ademola Lookman thumping the post and Fabio Miretti striking the bar, while Vlahovic had a second goal disallowed for the tightest of offsides as Juve claimed a deserved victory.

It offered a bright ending to an otherwise disappointing season and potentially the last trophy for Massimiliano Allegri, and the Bianconeri coach went out with a bang as he reacted to a stoppage-time red card by furiously ripping off his jacket and tie.

Juve extended their record Coppa Italia haul to 15 trophies, while Atalanta’s wait for their first since 1963 goes on and Gasperini will hope that the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen can finally deliver him a career-first trophy.

FULL TIME: ATALANTA 0-1 JUVENTUS

Juventus are Coppa Italia champions for a 15th time!

Heartbreak for Atalanta and Gasperini as their wait for a trophy together goes on with a third cup final defeat in six years.

Vlahovic's early goal proved enough, but it was also a heroic defensive performance from Juventus, who gave very little away in one of their best performances for months.

Milik wins a free-kick off Ederson inside the Atalanta half, and that may well be that.

He gives the referee a sarcastic thumbs up, rips off his jacket and his tie, and storms down the tunnel! The Juve coach is FURIOUS as he sees red, presumably for dissent.

Atalanta win a free-kick on the right wing and Miranchuk lofts it in, but it's headed away. Only as far as Lookman, who sticks it back in the mixer and this time it drops to Ederson, whose shot is saved by Perin! Bremer scrambles clear.

JUVE GRINDING DOWN THE CLOCK

Juve have it exactly where they want it - at the corner flag near Atalanta's goal. They are chopping down the minutes here...

ALL OR NOTHING FOR ATALANTA

We are heading into six minutes of stoppage time. Can they snatch a late leveller?

We've now seen the offside replay for the disallowed goal, and it is a matter of inches on a sleeve. Incredibly close.

Yildiz goes down and gets Toloi's foot straight in his, erm, sensitive area. It's definitely painful, but VAR has a look and decides it's not serious foul play or red card-worthy. An unfortunate accident.

Juve are again so close to doubling their lead. This time Miretti is slipped through and puts his laces through a shot but it leaves the crossbar shaking.

Juve's final change is a straight wing-back swap.

VLAHOVIC REPLACED BY MILIK

Brilliant game from the striker, whose goal remains the difference between the sides.

Agonising for the Atalanta striker! He does brilliantly to work his way into space and get a shot off, but it cannons off the foot of the post and out. That's as close as Atalanta have come, by far their best chance of the game.

A cynical foul to stop Vlahovic on the counter.

Yellow card

Atalanta

It's end to end! Lookman goes down on the edge of the box and screams for a foul but nothing is doing, and Juve surge up the other end but Yildiz's cut-back is intercepted by rapidly retreating Atalanta defenders. Breathless stuff here at the Olimpico.
