MK Party parliamentary leader John Hlophe is adamant that there will be "no conflict" in him serving on the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) as an MP, despite being found unfit to hold office as a judge.
"There is no conflict at all. I'm not a judge," Hlophe told SABC journalist Bulelani Phillip on Tuesday, shortly after he and his fellow MK Party MPs were sworn into office.
"I don't even want to be called a judge, but people still call me a judge. I don't call myself a judge, I call myself Dr Hlophe because I have a doctorate in law. Nobody will take that away from me. Even [President] Cyril Ramaphosa will never take that away from me."
