Although Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s romance in 2002 didn’t pan out, fate had other ideas. The couple was destined to find their way back to one another, according to an astrologer. In an episode of Celebrity Astrology Investigation on People in October 2021, celebrity astrologer Aliza Kelly analyzed the birth charts of Lopez and Affleck. Based on Kelly’s evaluation, in 2002 (the year the duo met, started dating, and got engaged; they called off their wedding in 2004), the multi-hyphenate’s Venus and the actor-filmmaker’s Saturn were “exactly aligned” with the planets, “bonding together as activated by the eclipses.”
Kelly explained that in 2021 (when the couple rekindled their relationship), the lunar nodes cycled to the exact same place that they were in 2002. “I don’t know how else to say this, but it would appear this reconnection is quite literally fated!” Kelly explained. “I literally have goosebumps.” After nearly two years of marriage, Lopez and Affleck’s relationship does seem to be written in the stars.
Professional astrologer Lisa Stardust also evaluated the Marry Me actress and Gone Girl actor’s charts in February 2024, concluding that they’re astrologically compatible, according to Today. First of all, both Lopez and Affleck are Leos, so they share the same sun sign. “When two Leos come together, their shared traits of loyalty, tenderness, and generosity can create a warm and affectionate bond,” Stardust wrote. The married couple also has the same moon sign, Scorpio, in common. “When two people share a moon sign, it’s as if they just get each other, including the parts that are hardest to express,” Stardust noted. Scorpio moons desire deep, meaningful relationships, and they’re a constant source of support to each other, according to Stardust.

Stardust pointed out the interesting connection between Lopez’s Venus, the planet of love, and Affleck’s Saturn, the planet of commitment, in Gemini, which indicates a long-term, stable connection. Their Mars signs—Lopez’s is in Sagittarius and Affleck’s is in Virgo—also produce a square, which Stardust said creates “intense energy.” “As a result, the couple experiences high levels of passion but are willing to work out their differences,” she wrote. “The strong energy motivates them to work together and talk things through. Their affection for each other is off the charts, and they find each other extremely interesting and attractive. They admire each other’s drive and desire to bring creativity to life.”
Finally, Lopez’s Mars, which symbolizes action, in Sagittarius and Affleck’s Neptune, which indicates dreams, in Sagittarius have an unmatched connection. The deeper meaning? When they’re together, the two of them will help one another accomplish their dreams.
