Girls Trip 2 with Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith gets huge ...
It's official: Girls Trip 2 is happening.
The rumoured sequel to the Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah movie has finally been confirmed by co-writer Tracy Oliver.
Oliver made the announcement at the Sundance Film Festival when she was promoting the second season of her Prime Video series Harlem.
She also revealed that the sequel to the 2017 hit could take place in West Africa, saying: "[Producer Will Packer] might kill me, we’re looking to set it in Ghana."

After she made this announcement, actor Shoniqua Shandai – who stars in Harlem – yelled out "Afrochella" in reference to the country’s famous cultural music event.
Oliver went on to confirm that Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish’s characters will fly out to attend the festival that in the past has seen acts such as Beyoncé perform.
While Oliver didn’t disclose anything else about the plot of the movie, she teased: "It’s officially happening. I can say that."

There is no known release date or production start date for the sequel, as Oliver confirmed she is still working on the script.
Fans at the event were delighted about the news of the highly anticipated reunion, after the staggering success of the $19 million-budget movie.
The first Girls Trip movie received widespread acclaim and grossed a staggering $140 million worldwide from its modest Hollywood budget.

Queen Latifah previously told People that the original cast would all be delighted to return for a sequel.
"We are all in for Girls Trip 2," she said in 2019. "We're just waiting for a script to be honest. Tiffany [Haddish] called me like two weeks ago like, 'I know if me and you and Jada [Pinkett Smith] and Regina [Hall] get in the room, we can write this script'.
"She's talking like she doesn't have a job. But we really want to make it happen as soon as possible."
