Good luck to United fan Jack Draper

We’re wishing British tennis star Jack Draper the very best of luck, as he prepares for his big US Open semi-final on Friday.

The 22-year-old hails from Surrey and is a big Manchester United fan, watching us play whenever he has a spare moment between matches.

Draper, who is currently ranked no.25 in the world, had never been beyond the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament prior to this edition.

But he’s been on red-hot form at Flushing Meadows, having not dropped a set in his five victories so far.

After dispatching Zhang Zhizhen, Facundo Diaz Acosta, Botic van de Zandschulp and Tomas Machac, Jack made light work of the Australian Alex de Minaur on Wednesday evening, prevailing 6-3 7-5 6-2 to set up a clash with world number-one Jannik Sinner.

The Italian, who won the Australian Open earlier this year, will be the favourite to progress to Sunday’s final but Draper is the man of the moment in New York, as he seeks to emulate Andy Murray, who won his first major at this tournament in 2012.

Draper was a team-mate of the now-retired Murray at last year’s Davis Cup finals, held in Manchester.

United goalkeeper and tennis fan Tom Heaton attended the event and met up with some of the players afterwards, including Draper.

The pair shared a brief conversation about the two sports as they were also pictured together and we’re sure that Tom – as well as everyone at United – will be watching Jack intently as he aims to make history.
