After a narrow 1-0 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in our last game, a win is essential for our young Gunners as they strive to stay in contention for the knockout stages. Currently sitting 26th with three points, we’ll need to finish within the top 22 to advance.

The Opposition

Inter’s U19s have had a stellar Youth League campaign, taking maximum points from their games and currently leading the table in first place. They opened their campaign with a 4-2 comeback win over Manchester City, followed by a dominant 4-0 victory against Red Star Belgrade. In their latest match, Inter defeated Young Boys 3-2, holding strong despite going down to 10 men for much of the second half.

Comprised mainly of players from their Primavera (U20s) squad, Inter’s U20s compete in the Campionato Primavera 1, where they currently sit 6th with 15 points from nine matches. They come into Wednesday’s game on the back of a thrilling 4-3 win over Monza on Sunday.

Inter’s Primavera team boasts an impressive record, with 10 league titles - the most successful in league history - with their most recent title claimed in 2021/22.

Youth League History

This is Inter’s seventh UEFA Youth League campaign. Their best run came in the 2019/20 season when they topped their group and reached the quarter-finals, eventually bowing out to Real Madrid, who went on to win the tournament.

Over the past three seasons, Inter have advanced from the group stage each time but have been eliminated in the first knockout round, most recently falling to Olympiacos on penalties—who went on to claim the trophy.
