Empoli Ready To Shell Out €5M To Sign Inter Milan Striker Permanently
Empoli are ready to activate the €5 million purchase option to sign Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito on a permanent basis next summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Esposito is currently on loan at Empoli from Inter.
This is the latest in a string of loan moves that has also seen the young striker turn out for the likes of SPAL, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht, Bari, and Sampdoria.
However, it has been Esposito’s first loan out to a club in Serie A.
And it has been a positive experience for the 22-year-old.
Esposito has established himself as a regular in the starting eleven under Roberto D’Aversa. Tuscany has seemingly proven to be just the right environment for him to grow into Serie A.
Empoli Ready To Trigger Purchase Option On Inter Striker Sebastiano EspositoEsposito’s equalizer and subsequent penalty in the Coppa Italia against Fiorentina was the latest example of the Inter striker making an impact at Empoli.
The 22-year-old has managed to contribute more than just his goals, though.
Esposito is a key player in Empoli’s push to avoid relegation, therefore. They currently have a foothold in the Serie A midtable.
And should the Tuscans stay in the top flight, they’ll almost certainly want to keep Esposito.
The Inter striker’s loan deal contains a purchase option. Empoli can make the move permanent for a fee of around €5 million.
And according to Tuttosport, therefore, Empoli would have every intention of paying Inter that fee.
