Encounters between City and Arsenal have become something of a newfound rivalry in recent years, with the two sides closely jostling for the Premier League title - and the fiery encounter on Sunday was no different.

Arsenal - who were reduced to 10 men just before half-time with Leandro Trossard receiving a second booking - defended their lead resolutely until the eighth-minute of stoppage-time, when John Stones swept home to secure a late point for Pep Guardiola's side.

But the defensive manner of Arsenal's second-half performance drew frustrations out of the Premier League champions, and Haaland had a message for the visitors' boss after the full-time whistle.

Haaland's comment sparked confrontation from former City striker Gabriel Jesus, who leapt to the defence of his boss.

"Come," Jesus said, facing up to the Norway international.

"What, what, what, what?" Haaland replied.

"Come, why you saying, you talking?" Jesus said.

"Talking about what? I wasn't talking ******* clown," Haaland claimed, seeming to push Jesus out of the way before City team-mate Jack Grealish intervened.

Jesus said "don't touch me", before Haaland replied: "What you talking about? Get the **** away, you ******* clown".

Haaland scored first in the spicy clash, before Arsenal's summer signing Riccardo Calafiori netted a superb equaliser midway through the first half.

Gabriel gave the visitors the lead in first-half stoppage-time, but on the stroke of half-time Arsenal forward Trossard was sent off for a second yellow card.

Arsenal's numerical disadvantage prompted the visitors to set up defensively for the second half, deploying a low block which seemingly frustrated City - until Stones netted the equaliser moments from the full-time whistle.

Instead of celebrating the late equaliser with his team-mates, Haaland opted to head in the other direction - retrieving the ball from the back of the net before throwing it against the back of Arsenal defender Gabriel's head.

The result saw Guardiola's side surrender their perfect Premier League record, but stay at the summit of the Premier League table, retaining a two-point cushion over Arsenal, who sit fourth.
