Reports: Galatasaray Interested in Dybala, €10 Million Contract ...
Paulo Dybala may have come into Rome like a conquering hero, but he looks increasingly likely to sneak out the back door in January, at least according to reports out of Turkey and later substantiated by Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio. After a seven-year stint with Juventus, Dybala, 31, signed a three-year deal with Roma in 2022.
Dybala hit the ground running for the Giallorossi, scoring 34 goals and adding 17 assists during his first two seasons with the club. This season, La Joya and the Giallorossi have struggled in kind, with the club plummeting toward the relegation zone while Dybala's numbers have dried up: only two goals and one assist in 18 appearances in all competitions.
With seven more appearances, Dybala's contract will automatically be extended for another season, and given his decreasing rate of return, Roma may look to hasten his exit. As first reported by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Turkish club Galatasaray may look to accommodate Dybala and Roma by signing the Argentinian forward next month.
The Corriere dello Sport claims that, with a €10 million contract offer on the table, Dybala's agent, Carlos Novel, has flown to Turkey to discuss the finer points of the deal. Dybala remains committed to Roma but would, based on these rumors, accept the transfer if the club deems it necessary.
This isn't exactly the ending we envisioned when Dybala was serenaded by Roma fans at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana two summers ago, was it?
