20' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
Incredible commitment to playing out from the back by City, there, even after three or four attempts that nearly led directly to a United goal.
United are very compact when City start with the ball at the back, so Bernardo is dropping into right back, pushing Walker up, and then Bernardo gets on the ball and carries it up as United are staying compact rather than pressing. Cat and mouse.
Ortega gets on the ball and keeps rolling it back towards his own goal, drawing United in, then passes it to Kovacic in the heart of the action. He turns, runs, finds Rodri and City get out.

A chaotic minute as a slip from a defender in City's box nearly gifts McTominay a open shot on goal from close range. Stones does just enough to get his body in front of the shot.
Moments later Fernandes and Kovacic both lunge for the ball, prompting United to appeal for a penalty that isn't forthcoming.

Foden misplaces a pass attempting to slip a team-mate in on the left flank, ending a City attack before it got going.
United aren't enjoying much possession but are showing discipline in their defensive shape as City dominate the ball.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer are at Wembley this afternoon.
All three owners were also present at the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry in April.

Marcus Rashford vs Kyle Walker will be a key battle this afternoon. Erik ten Hag's side are most dangerous when they can counter-attack and get their mercurial forwards running in behind, but Walker's recovery pace makes him one of the best defenders in the world when protecting against them.
Rashford had a difficult time when matched up against Walker in the 3-1 result at the Etihad at March. The full-back is stronger and faster in a footrace than the United forward. Rashford will have to be at his maximum to get the most out of what chances may occur.

10' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
City are looking to exploit the height difference between Haaland and Martinez by crossing balls in from the left wing, the latest coming in just now.
That's what led to the early penalty appeal.
9' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
A well-worked United move sets Garnacho up to try a shot from the right side of their attack. He makes powerful contact but his effort is straight at Ortega, who makes a comfortable save.

6' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
The game has calmed down just a bit from its frantic opening minute as City get on the ball and begin to dictate proceedings.
4' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
That looked a lot like a penalty on first viewing, with Haaland readying himself for the header before being barged by Martinez. The replays looked a bit less clear-cut, it must be said.

3' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
United were very fortunate not to concede a penalty there.
There was no challenge for the ball from Martinez and he took Haaland out.
2' Manchester City 0-0 Manchester United
A wild start in the opening minute! Rashford nearly gets in on City's goal straight away from the kick-off, before City come the other way. They loft a cross into the box where Haaland goes to ground after making contact with Martinez. City want a penalty but both the referee and VAR aren't interested.

It took Ilkay Gundogan just 13 seconds to fire City into the lead against United in last year's FA Cup final. So an improvement for Erik ten Hag's team then!

Foden gets the ball rolling and we're underway at Wembley!
Manchester City have never won the FA Cup in successive seasons, so a win today would see them achieve that for the first time.

Today's game is about hunger and mentality. There isn’t much going in United's favour at the moment. All the talk about Ten Hag and finishing eighth in the league. A win today a will be down to their pride and to give the fans something to be happy about after a really disappointing season.
City will be expected to win and they will still be on a high from their fourth successive title. A squad full of experience and winners way above the United squad. Guardiola will be telling them not to be complacent and to go and put a performance on full of quality and to a standard they expect and, as a result, I feel that will be enough for them to get the win today.

In Kobbie Mainoo (19y 36d) and Alejandro Garnacho (19y 329d), Manchester United are the first side since Millwall in 2004 to start at least two teenagers in an FA Cup final.
United will be hoping to fare better than Millwall did 20 years ago, when they lost 3-0 to United themselves.

Our Manchester United-supporting subscribers have been having their say in our matchday discussion (which you can find by clicking here).
Brian D: 3 points. Proper defending. Squash the chaos ball. Put Bruno on tilt. That’s all I ask.
One match left in the campaign , one final, one trophy. What a wonderful day for a derby!
Dave H: Don't concede early, stay in the game, hope our defence holds up injury wise and concentration wise, hope our player who can hurt City with his pace (Rashford), does so, hope Hojlund has the chance to do something when he comes on. Hope hope hope is all we really have today.
Jake S: Jesus I reckon most of that City bench would start for us. No massive issues with the line-up though, starting Rashford makes sense from a motivation perspective. If he can’t put in a shift in off the back of the England squad announcement then there’s no helping him.
Having Amad and Hojlund as options off the bench if we’re still in the game is a positive.
