Bafana Bafana starlet Cassius Mailula has explained his emotional reaction to Sundowns being knocked out of the CAF Champions League by Wydad Casablanca in the semi-finals.

Mailula was inconsolable at Full Time as he broke down in tears following Sundowns' two-all draw to the Moroccan giants who progressed through the away goals rule.

He pointed out that he was too emotional after the game, saying that winning the tournament is a dream for him. The 21-year-old had a stellar campaign, bagging six goals in ten matches.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Mailula explains CAF Champions League tears" story:

"I see the Buccaneers becoming the first SA team to don two stars. Archive this!!" says Dukwase.

"He said we are yet to have a team playing like Sundowns in Africa. It is deep in the hearts of many football lovers. Appreciations will help future humiliation, but jealous ones will be destroyed for many years to come in horror," says lombosngoape.

"Don't cry young man. Next season you're going to the final to lift the trophy if you keep on working hard. Yellow I remain," says Nhlax.

"I see a team in Sundowns that will be able to dethrone the North African teams in the future. Whether it's next season or the season after, it's going to happen," says makhause(2).

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of long-serving defender Eric Mathoho after 11 years at the Soweto giants.

The 33-year-old's final season was riddled with injuries, seeing him only making one appearance in the league for Arthur Zwane's men.

Mathoho's contract expired at the end of June, and Kaizer Chiefs opted against renewing it with the club hosting a farewell for the player at their training base in Naturena.

Here's how how the readers reacted to the "Chiefs confirm long-serving defender's departure" story:

"Chiefs unveiled mannikin instead of Tower, we've been subjected to a lot," says Shikabala.

"I hope one day he will come back as a technical member," says roykwinda.

"At 33, he is not over the hills as yet. He has a good two to three seasons of football in him. The likes of Ngezana and Kwinika would have learned a lot from him but unfortunately, it is not to be.

Those who wrote him off (Zwane & Management) wrote him off at their own peril. Watch him come back to bite the hand that used to feed him."

Form is temporary but class is permanent. A genuine Khosi at heart this one. Salute bokhotshi munene," says gsithole.

"Honestly, I feel sorry for Mathoho because even when he was not playing, there was no improvement in Chiefs' defence.

That defence is still leaking goals even now, so what was the use of not playing him? At Bucs we offloaded Jele, Nyauza, Tyson and the improvement to our defence is more than 90%. Up the Bucs," says morewasn.

"I wish all the best Tower; you played your part, and we really appreciate that. You deserve something better than this farewell boy.." says zandisiletsefu.

"Farewell Tower, you will be forever a living legend of the MIGHTY KAIZER CHIEFS, I respect you especially how you came and joined this great institution, much love and respect to you Tower, you served us well, THANK YOU, KHOSI 4 LIFE!!!" says user827808.

"Even at his worst, Tower is head and shoulders above Kwinika. This clueless coach will be the death of Chiefs," says spoko1304.

"All the best "Tower", soon you will be signed by a serious team and you will perform well. Just like those who were released last year (Cardoso and the rest). Your service and experience is needed somewhere," says peter95157.

"The guy has been a good servant of the club. I wish him all the best," says insansa.legal.
