82' England 1-0 Australia
I remember being at the Emirates to see Eddie Nketiah's home Arsenal debut against Norwich in October 2017. He went on to score twice that night.
Now six years later, to the month, we've got Nketiah making his England debut — which happens to be at home.
Great moment for him. Let's see if he scores this time too.

Not sure Gareth Southgate will have learned a huge amount tonight but if you're looking for positives Alexander-Arnold's performance has certainly been one — the Liverpool man has been busy and vibrant, unlike the team in general.
Alexander-Arnold was England's best player in their June internationals against Malta and North Macedonia but missed the games in September through injury. With Reece James sidelined at right-back and Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips and Mason Mount all seeing their claims for a midfield spot damaged lately, this feels like Alexander-Arnold's time to finally cement a starting XI place.

Irvine becomes the fifth player in this match to be shown a yellow card.

Australia have responded well to falling behind. They nearly equalised right away, and have made multiple forays forward in the past five minutes.

Ollie Watkins had a big beaming smile when he stuck that goal in, although it was the nonplussed expression of Jack Grealish on the Wembley big screens at the time.
Watkins eventually ran over to Grealish to thank him for the cross, and appears to mouth the words "It wasn't going in" to his former Aston Villa team-mate.

Each side is allowed to make six subs in this friendly.

And just like that, England score!
A missed clearance drops kindly for Grealish. He shoots for goal but it turns out to be the perfect cross for a sliding Watkins to turn home!
56' England 0-0 Australia
England have taken control of the match now, dominating possession and pinning Australia deep.
The tempo is not exactly lightning quick at the moment, a goal would definitely help spring this match into life a bit.
50' England 0-0 Australia
The second half has picked up where the first left off, with Australia on the front foot offensively.
Play has taken place almost entirely in their attacking half since we resumed play.
46' England 0-0 Australia
We're back underway at Wembley!
No changes for either side as we resume action.
Over in Amsterdam, France are leading the Netherlands 1-0 at half-time in their Euro 2024 qualifier.
Kylian Mbappe’s crisp volley is the difference so far and France deserve their lead.

Ollie Watkins rounds Australia captain Mathew Ryan and slots the ball towards the unguarded net - only to see the effort come back off the inside of the post and then cleared from danger.
It was the closest either side came to scoring, although Australia had the greater number of chances.

Al Ettifaq are the 11th club from outside of Great Britain to have a player serve as England captain in a match:

The half-time stats back that up too...

That was definitely a half-time whistle greeted by a few boos from the Wembley crowd.
Australia had the better chances going forward and held their own defensively.
It's Australia's turn to make a brilliant defensive play, as Leicester City defender Souttar makes a brilliant sliding tackle to deny Watkins sending a cross in from close range near the byline.
England earn a corner but the referee doesn't allow them to take it, much to the chagrin of the home supporters.
