Friday the 13th might be considered bad luck for some, but Borussia Dortmund swept aside superstition in the Bundesliga Matchday 3 opener against Heidenheim to set an astonishing record.

Indeed, the last time Dortmund lost at home on a Friday was over 20 years ago, back in January 2004, when they were beaten 1-0 by local rivals Schalke.
Since then they have won 28 and drawn nine times under the Friday night lights at home, equalling the unbeaten record set by Werder Bremen.
"After we went 3-1 up we eased off a bit and it then things became tight again,” said Can, who secured the points late on with a coolly taken spot-kick.
