With 30% of votes counted in WC, DA drops below 50%

Projections about the Western Cape’s final results made by various election analysts puts the DA above 50%, guaranteeing the blue party an outright majority in the province.

Breaking News Update

GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - With just more than 30% of the vote counted in the Western Cape, the DA has dipped below 50% and at 13:15 had exactly 49% of the votes. 

The ANC stood at 22,13% and the PA had 11,29%. The votes at 472 of the 1 572 voting districts had been counted. 

This morning just before 11:00 the ANC had just 18, 85% of the vote but the PA’s percentage of the vote was slightly higher with 12,61% support.

Nationally with 19,33% of the votes counted at 13:15, the ANC led with 43,10%, the DA was at 24,97% and the EFF had 8,73%. MK was just behind them with 8,73% while the PA had amassed 4,2% of the vote.

Eastern Cape 

In the Eastern Cape where 22.76% of the votes have been counted, the ANC was in the lead with 63,72%, the DA had 15,53% and the EFF 9,26%. The PA stood at 2,31%.
