The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Ipswich Town FC 0 - 1 Crystal Palace FC

There's the final whistle, and Mateta's goal means it's the visitors who come away from Portman Road with all three points as Crystal Palace beat Ipswich Town 1-0! The hosts didn't offer anywhere near enough in the final third and produced just 0.49 xG, with Liam Delap's header and Dara O'Shea's long-range effort barely testing Henderson before an unorthodox free-kick routine resulted in Jacob Greaves hitting the post. Palace, meanwhile, proved to be the more clinical of the two sides and broke the deadlock just shy of the hour mark; Eberechi Eze playing Mateta through and the striker beating two players before finding the back of the net. The Eagles produced 1.53 xG in total and saw another effort from Mateta saved by Arijanet Muric, but didn't have to do much else as they held on for just their second victory of the season, which takes them up to 16th in the Premier League table!

Munoz is put into space down the right and hangs up a cross towards goal, but it's overhit and loops behind to land on top of the net!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:19

OFF THE WOODWORK!!! Davis stands over an Ipswich free-kick from the edge of the box, but rather than shoot, passes short to Chaplin. He chips the ball to the far post where Greaves heads back across the face, but it bounces back off the opposite upright and behind before Al-Hamadi or Broadhead can turn it home!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:17

Each one of Eze's last five Premier League assists have been for Palace's number 14 Mateta, as the two continue to display their almost telepathic link-up play since Glasner took charge.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:15

CHANCE!!! Hutchinson beats Mitchell down the right and fizzes a ball across the face of goal, but no-one can get on the end of it and the opportunity goes begging!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:13

Morsy is urged to shoot from the edge of the box having chested the ball down, but his effort is a poor one which skews away and ends up closer to the corner flag than its intended target!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:12

Al-Hamadi sparks an immediate Ipswich attack with a driving run down the flank before finding support to his right. It comes to Hutchinson, who cuts inside and fizzes a left-footed cross into the box which is punched clear by Henderson!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

Since Oliver Glasner's first game in charge of Crystal Palace on February 24 this year, only Erling Haaland (17) and Yoane Wissa (16) have scored more non-penalty Premier League goals than Mateta's 15. Talisman.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:04

Chance! An Ipswich corner is cleared ande Hughes carries the ball forward on the break for the Eagles. He feeds Sarr to his right, who has Munoz steaming ahead of him, but the Eagles winger instead looks to pass flat to Eze and the hosts cut it out!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:03

CHANCE!!! Davis finds space on the left and fires a first-time cross into the middle with Delap arriving, but he can't get a clean connection on his header and the chance goes astray!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:02

The Palace corner is swung in and aimed towards Lerma from the right, but Greaves gets there in time to glance his headed effort behind for another set-piece.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

21:00

SAVED!!! Eze produces a brilliant scooped pass on the turn to send Mateta running through on goal once more, but despite having Sarr in space to his right, the goalscorer goes for the shot himself and Muric saves with his legs!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:57

Harry Clarke looks to pick out the run of Delap into the box with a long punt forward, but Henderson positions himself well to claim the ball just inside his 18-yard box.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:57

Ipswich win a throw-in almost straight from the restart, but rather than launching a long ball into the Palace box, Cajuste goes back to Morsy and the visitors are able to snuff out any potential threat.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:47

Palace have won just two of their last 19 away games in the Premier League, losing nine times despite scoring the first goal on eight occasions across this run.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:47

OVER!!! Clarke plays a one-two with Morsy on the edge of the box before teeing up O'Shea from 25 yards, but the centre-back's speculative effort sails well over the top!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:46

Cajuste looks to drive Ipswich forward with a surging run past three players down the left flank, but he's eventually crowded out by yellow shirts and is forced to go backwards with a lack of options ahead of him.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:43

Since their return to the Premier League in 2013-14, Palace have failed to score a first-half goal in 286 of their matches, 39 times more than any other side in that time.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:41

Blocked!! Hughes stands up a pass for Eze on the edge of the box, who quickly gets a left-footed strike away and it's deflected behind for a corner off O'Shea!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:39

SAVED!!! Burns' cross from the right ricochets off Mitchell, but the Ipswich winger's second effort finds the head of Delap before his glancing effort is saved and held by Henderson!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:37

Both sides' chances of victory have dropped slightly in our live win probability tracker, but it's still Palace who lead the way on a 36.9% likelihood compared to Ipswich's 25.9% as Hutchinson gets the second half off and running!

Substitution Cheick Oumar Doucouré Jefferson Andrés Lerma Solís

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

As ever, Eze is pulling the strings for Palace, having arguably the best chance of the game so far with that shot saved by Muric. The England playmaker has had two shots and created two chances from his seven final-third passes, whipping in five crosses, contesting nine duels and turning over possession three times, winning two free-kicks in the process. Key.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:25

The first half comes and goes with no goals and very few chances to speak of, with the scores remaining 0-0 between Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace at the break. Despite the action being sparse in front of goal, the two sides have generated a combined xG of 1.20, with the visitors racking up 0.88 of that value. The Eagles have seen efforts from Doucoure and Munoz blocked, Chalobah head over the bar, and Eze force a good save from Muric, while Ipswich saved their only real chances right for the end of the half; Burns having a speculative shot blocked and Harry Clarke's near-post header being kept out by Henderson. The two sides need to produce more if either is to take control in the second period, with both still on the hunt for only their second wins of the season!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:20

HALF-TIME: IPSWICH TOWN 0-0 CRYSTAL PALACE.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:19

We're into three additional minutes with the opening goal seemingly still some way away at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:19

SAVED!!! Davis' corner is flicked on by Harry Clarke at the near post, but his glancing header is clawed out of the goalmouth by Henderson as Palace clear their lines!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:18

BLOCKED!! Cajuste's ball forward is taken down well by Burns, whose snap-shot from the edge of the box is blocked behind off Mitchell for a corner!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:17

Ipswich make a rare foray into the Palace half as Morsy floats a cross into the area, but Henderson rises above the pack to claim it confidently for the visitors.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:16

Only Man City (88) have had more shots from outside the box than Crystal Palace's 69 in the Premier League this season, while in this game, they're the only side to have registered a shot on target so far.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:14

Cajuste is taken out on the turn by Doucoure in the centre circle and wins a free-kick, with the Malian lucky to avoid a second yellow card for that cynical challenge!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:12

SAVED!!! Munoz, Sarr and Mateta combine to put Eze in behind the Ipswich defence, but Burns does just enough to put him off and the eventual shot is held by Muric!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:11

Blocked!! Eze slips Mitchell in to his left and he finds his opposite wing-back Munoz with a low cross into the centre. The Colombian shoots off-balance, but his left-footed effort is blocked off the line by Greaves!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:10

The ball breaks kindly for Mateta on the edge of the Ipswich box, but Harry Clarke and O'Shea do just enough to keep him at bay and the latter blocks the Frenchman's shot.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:08

Ipswich have only lost three of their last 45 home league matches, but are winless in their last six at Portman Road– all of which have come in this season's Premier League. They last endured a longer run without a win on home soil between February and April 2019, an eight-game stretch on their way to relegation from the Championship.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:07

The latest Palace corner is blocked as O'Shea receives attention following a cut to the head, and he'll leave the field temporarily to be bandaged up properly.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:06

OVER!! Doucoure clips the half-cleared Palace corner back into the middle from the right-hand side, as Chalobah climbs high in the middle but can only head over from right in front!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:04

Palace's corner is delayed as O'Shea receives treatment for a cut to the head after going up for a header, and the centre-back temporarily leaves the pitch to be bandaged up properly.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:03

BLOCKED!!! The best move of the game so far from Palace!!! Eze drives forward with the ball and beats Morsy twice to get a shot away, but after it's blocked and sits up nicely for Doucoure, the midfielder's half-volley from the edge of the box is bravely blocked behind by Greaves!

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

20:01

Eze drops deep to help out his backline and is clipped late by Morsy while trying to release the ball, with the Tractor Boys captain lucky to avoid a yellow card there.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

19:54

Yellow Card Cheick Oumar Doucouré

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

Like Ipswich, Palace’s sole win this season came against Tottenham, but they’re yet to do so on the road so far, with three draws and a 2-0 defeat to Fulham in their four matches since. The Eagles dominated against Newcastle last time out though, and they’ll be hoping Daniel Munoz’s 94th minute equaliser spurs them on to another three points.

Ipswich Town vs Crystal Palace

19:07

Two sides sat either side of the Premier League’s relegation trapdoor face off, with 19th placed Ipswich looking to win only their second top-flight match since 2002. The Tractor Boys’ 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest last time out brought a three-match unbeaten run to a halt, but they can still leapfrog Palace and climb to 15th in the table with a victory here.
