Collette Timson Honoured With Hampshire Cricket Vice Presidency
Celebrating 25 years of exceptional service behind the scenes at the Club
Thursday 19 December 2024
Collette Timson has been awarded Hampshire Cricket Vice Presidency for services to the Club.
Hampshire Cricket Members recognised an outstanding off-field contribution at the annual Christmas Lunch as Collette Timson, Executive Assistant to the Club’s Directors for 25 years, was formally inducted as a Vice President.
The universally respected Timson joined the Club as it moved from Northlands Road to its new home and has remained a central part of the behind-the-scenes team ever since. During that period, she has managed the diaries of the Club’s Directors, taken minutes at almost every board meeting, and provided advice and support to countless staff and players who have joined the team.
Collette has served the Club with professionalism and discretion throughout her tenure. She has been an ever-present confidant and adviser throughout a period of significant change and has been involved in everything the Club has done over that time. Collette embodies the Club’s values of loyalty, commitment, and unity, being available 24/7 for much of that period and always lending her full support to the leadership team.
Everyone at Hampshire Cricket is truly grateful to Collette for her outstanding contribution, and this is well-deserved recognition for the impact she has had and all the sacrifices she has made to further our objectives.
Hampshire Cricket Vice Presidency is an honorary title awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the Club, generally in off-field roles. Vice Presidents receive Lifetime Executive Club Membership, are invited to specific events, and are available to members of the board to provide historical context.
Collette becomes one of 48 Vice Presidents, who include former Chairs, committee members, directors, historians, patrons, and coaches. Earlier this year, Charlotte Edwards was awarded Vice Presidency for her impact on Women & Girls Cricket. The former England captain has transformed the Club’s approach to women’s professional cricket and will lead Hampshire’s rebranded women’s team into a new county era in 2025.
