India vs Sri Lanka World Cup 2023 Live Score: India will bat first against Sri Lanka in what is a rematch of the 2011 World Cup final at the Wankhede Stadium. Sri Lanka won the toss and captain Kusal Mendis decided they would like to bowl first, a decision that made the home fans in the stands. India skipper Rohit Sharma also said they would have batted first if they had won the toss.

India have made no changes to the side. Having won six games on the trot, Rohit Sharma and Co come into the game as favourites. In their last match, they handed a 100-run drubbing to defending champions England.

For Sri Lanka, a defeat against Afghanistan in Pune came as a setback after the 1996 winners had bested England at the Chinnaswamy Stadium last week. The Kusal Mendis-led side has just two wins from six games and with the tournament reaching closer to its business end, chances of a semifinal spot are dwindling.

He just doesn’t run; he tears down the pitch, a furious blur of emotions, adrenaline, eye-popping intensity, and desire. MS Dhoni will remain the best Indian runner between the wickets and his dash had that composure and self-control. His was a run of a man in control. Kohli’s is a liberating run. A manic dash of a man who seems to let go of all controls. What’s impressive is that while Dhoni has always run like this from the start of his career, Kohli’s a part of an evolution consciously and deliberately achieved by an ambitious man. But will age catch up with him in that aspect? (READ MORE)
