Bafana Bafana were knocked out of the competition despite recording a 1-0 over Eswatini and not losing a match in the group stage, narrowly missing out on progression to the next round by virtue of a weaker goal difference to Mozambique.

Stellies’ Thabo Moloisane started all three of South Africa’s matches throughout the tournament in Gqeberha, including Tuesday’s win over Shilangu Semnikati, and helped the national team keep two clean sheets in the process.
