Navarro will now face the No. 7-seeded Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinal, where she will look to pull off another upset.

Gauff had a strong start to the second week of Wimbledon, defeating Sonay Kartal in straight sets with ease to advance to the fourth round, but Navarro put together a strong performance to keep her from reaching the quarterfinal.

Though she came up short at Wimbledon, Guaff has had a good year, reaching the Australian Open semifinal and winning doubles at the French Open. At just 20 years old, Guaff has plenty of time to get her first Wimbledon title.

For Navarro, she now moves to a Grand Slam quarterfinal for just the second time in her career after seven major appearances. It also marks her second top-five win of 2024 as she beat Aryna Sabalenka in the WTA 1000 to advance to the quarterfinal.

The third and fourth rounds of Wimbledon have already produced a handful of upsets after Guaff's loss on Sunday. World No. 1 Iga Świątek lost to Yulia Putintseva in the fourth round and last year's winner, Markéta Vondroušová, lost in the first round to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.
