Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the 2023 US Open, clinching her maiden Grand Slam title in the process. The 19-year old resumed her dominance on the WTA tour, as she battled from the brink of defeat to overcome Petra Martic at the ongoing China Open.

The American sits second on the top-earners list for 2023, with $5,557,372. World No.1 Sabalenka currently sits at the top of that list, having raked in $7,369,635.
