The committee is made up of police and other law enforcement agencies. Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says the committee has carefully planned all safety and security operations.
Masondo adds that law enforcement officials will not tolerate any lawlessness and criminality.
“The ESSPC has been meeting regularly with all relevant stakeholders including event organisers in the build up to the concert to ensure that plans are in place to also secure the safety of communities living near the FNB stadium as well as businesses operating in this vicinity. All law enforcement agencies led by the SAPS have mobilised resources to heighten police visibility with the aim of preventing and combatting any form of opportunistic crimes before, during, and post the concert.”
The Gautrain Management Agency says they are committed to facilitating a smooth and safe travel experience for attendees of the concert.
The Agency says a dedicated late-night Gautrain service will be available for concertgoers, with an additional bus shuttle service operating between Park Station and FNB Stadium.
