Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Emmanuel Letlotlo joins Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League side Appollo XI FC

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Emmanuel Letlotlo has landed a fresh opportunity to rejuvenate his football career in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League.

The 28-year-old player signed with Appollo XI FC in the SAFA Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League for the 2024/25 season. The Mpumalanga amateur league for the new campaign has started, with all 18 teams having already played in four games thus far.

Currently, Appollo XI holds fourth place in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League standings, having accumulated nine points from four matches. They won three of the four matches and lost only one. Letlotlo is no stranger to the ABC Motsepe League; he previously played for Postmasburg FC in the Northern Cape.

Letlotlo will have the responsibility of assisting his new team in reaching their end goal of qualifying for the ABC League National Playoffs and potentially securing promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the upcoming season.

The skilled forward brings a wealth of experience in the third tier of SA football. He featured for clubs like Baroka FC and Royal AM in the PSL.

Letlotlo’s football career took off after he joined the Amakhosi reserve team. He became the leading goal-scorer in the Diski Challenge, earning him a promotion to the first team in May 2016.

His first appearance for Chiefs was in August 2016 when they faced Bidvest Wits in a league match, resulting in a 2-1 loss for Amakhosi.

However, Letlotlo struggled for game time and was let go by the Chiefs in 2019. After that, he joined Royal AM in the South African second tier on a contract lasting until the end of the subsequent season.

APPOLLO XI FC’S NEXT ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE MATCH

Appollo XI’s next match will be against Shimadel FC on Saturday, 26 October away from home. The game will start at 15:00, and Letlotlo is expected to lead the club’s attack.
