González spent almost a year in South Africa on loan at Chiefs from Santa Cruz. Amakhosi opted against extending the striker’s deal to a permanent one as he was never convincing in his short spell at the club.

He returned to his mother club Cruz right after his one-season contract expired with Chiefs. The 24-year-old scored in his first game for Cruz from the penalty spot to earn them a point away from home.

González last found the back of the net in a 3-2 win for Santa Cruz back in March 2023, but has since struggled in front of goal despite playing over 10 games for the Glamour Boys.

During his time at Naturena, the Colombian marksman failed to register any assist or score a goal in 13 outings across all competitions as the club endured their worst ever finish in topflight football.
