Chargers vs. Chiefs score, live updates: Kansas City looks to clinch ...
How many streaks can the Kansas City Chiefs possibly be on at once? Two straight Super Bowls. Six straight AFC Championship games. Eight straight division titles. Nine straight playoff appearances. Fourteen straight wins in one-score games. What more can you say about the club that's become the league's premier franchise this decade? Well, this year, you can say that it's at least as good to be lucky as it is to be good. A bungled snap on a questionable play call is how the made it a ninth-straight 11-win season on Black Friday against the Raiders, and they'll have another shot at teetering on the edge for a win with the Chargers in town for Sunday Night Football.
Los Angeles is firmly in the AFC wild-card hunt at 8-4 and nearly took down the Chiefs in a 17-1 loss in Week 4, in which the Chargers had jumped out to a 10-0 lead. The Chiefs defense put the clamps on after the fast start, holding the Chargers to just 224 yards of offense in that game to win despite two Kansas City turnovers. A win Sunday night for K.C. means a ninth consecutive division title, and the club's streak of eight in a row is already second-best in NFL history behind the Patriots' 11 straight from 2009-2019.

Another Chiefs scoring drive ends in a field goal. Kansas City drives 40 yards, but fails to find the end zone after failing to convert on fourth-and-5 in the red zone. Matthew Wright's second field goal of the night is good from 33 yards to extend Kansas City's lead to 6-0 midway through the second quarter.
The Chiefs' defense is shutting the Chargers down so far. But a tepid offense is failing to take control of the game. This is the same formula that finds the Chiefs in close games week in and week out.

The Chargers had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Joshua Palmer broke free deep past the Kansas City secondary on second down. But Justin Herbert missed the mark with an overthrown ball on a would-be touchdown had Palmer been able to corral it.
Instead, the Chargers punted after failing to convert on third down and are still seeking their first score. A tough miss for the Chargers in a game where points won't come easy.

The Chargers forced a punt, then nearly gave the ball right back on a muff. Derius Davis mishandled the punt that he intended to return, but was able to jump on the ball before Kansas City's coverage team got downfield.

Justin Herbert scrambled for seven yards on third-and-16 to advance the Chargers to Kansas City's 39-yard line. But the Chargers opted against attempting a 57-yard field goal and punted the ball back to the Chiefs.
