Lauren James is a doubt for Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final first leg away to Barcelona on Saturday after missing Wednesday’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa with a foot injury.

Emma Hayes, the Chelsea manager, gave little away about James’s condition after her side had returned to the top of the Women’s Super League.
