Cedric Kaze spotted at Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena

Kaizer Chiefs’ search for Fernando Da Cruz’s replacement has come to an end as Burundian coach Cedric Kaze was spotted at their Naturena base on Thursday.

His presence suggests an announcement is imminent for the crucial role of second assistant to Nasreddine Nabi.

As reported by FARPost last week, the club had reached an agreement with the 45-year-old coach, pending the approval of his work visa. His appearance at the Chiefs Village indicates that the visa process has been successful, and he is now cleared to take on his new role.

According to a club insider, Kaze was at the Village to complete the final details of his contract. He will soon be welcomed by the team and is anticipated to travel with them for their upcoming match on Saturday.

“The newly appointed assistant coach was at the Village today to finalise the paperwork and officially sign his contract. He will be introduced to the team shortly and is expected to accompany the squad on their trip to Polokwane this Saturday,” a source told FARPost.

Amakhosi visit SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick-off is 8PM on Saturday.

Kaze’s extensive coaching experience, coupled with his strong track record of success, makes him a valuable addition to the club’s technical team. Previously working alongside Nabi at Young Africans in Tanzania, Kaze brings a wealth of knowledge and a meticulous approach to his role.

His Bachelor of Sport Science degree and CAF and German Football Federation A Licenses underscore his commitment to the “science of football” and his ability to analyse and plan effectively.

His coaching career has been marked by numerous achievements. He has lifted four league titles with Burundi’s Atletico Olympic and Young Africans, and has also had successful stints with Mukura Victory Sports in Rwanda and the Burundi national teams.

His experience working with Barcelona’s youth teams further highlights his dedication to player development. Senzo Mbatha, who recruited Kaze at Young Africans, praises his dedication and hands-on approach to coaching. His technical expertise complements Nabi’s strategic and “hands-off” style. Together, they form a dynamic duo capable of leading Chiefs to new heights.

At Yanga, Nabi and Kaze secured two league titles, two FA Cups, and two Community Shields. Nabi, who has been tasked with turning around Chiefs’ fortunes, will be hoping to replicate his success at Amakhosi.

With Kaze’s support, Chiefs can expect a balanced and effective coaching team that is capable of delivering results on the field.

The Tunisian mentor also has his right hand man, Khalil Ben Youssef, as first assistant, fitness and conditioning coach, Majdi Safi, and goalkeeper coach, Ilyes Mzoughi.
