Cassper Nyovest

On Thursday Cassper shared a video giving his side of the story.

The Siyathandana hit maker admitted what Thobeka said was true.

Cassper, real name Refiloe Phoolo, added his appearance on podcasts recently was an attempt to speak candidly on the hurt he caused in the life he previously lived. He said his promiscuity ended their relationship two years ago.

“I left out certain details, like my son's cancer, because I had agreed with her we wouldn't share that part with the public, and I thought I was honouring her and my son; maybe it might have come off as me trying to defend myself,” he said.

“I wanted to confirm that as the truth might not be the whole truth, but I wanted to take accountability for my part and say that is the truth about the person I was. I'm not proud of it but it's an important part in my life because that's part of me, part of my history, and something I had to grow from, something I had to forgive myself for.”

Since December the rapper has been sharing his journey with God, saying he is a changed man.

He acknowledges his past but knows he is now a new man who still has to face his past.

“Gents, when you make bad decisions in your life, these are the consequences. Not only do you hurt people but you also don't get to choose how they deal with the pain you caused them, so I understand the mother of my child coming out and sharing it the way that she did. I hope it gives her a little peace.

“I also hope this can be an example to more men to say it's time to grow up and change. Be accountable and responsible. I apologise to the mother of my child, to her family, my family and everybody I put in this mess. This is the mess I created and through Jesus Christ I've been able to forgive myself, rebuild, be accountable and be a man of honour. Be a man of integrity and give myself a second chance.”

Cassper said he intends to continue sharing his testimony and hopes he will be forgiven one day.
