Cassper Nyovest has released his latest 11-track body of work, Solomon. Named after his best friend, better known as Carpo, the album features the likes of Maglera Doe Boy and Nobantu Vilakazi.
He has also dedicated a song, Candlelight, to slain rapper AKA.

Despite the relationship between late rapper AKA and Cassper Nyovest being marred by conflict and beef during their careers, Nyovest has dedicated a song from his newly released album, Solomon, to him. The album is named after his best friend, Carpo.

Nyovest shared the news that he dedicated Candlelight to AKA at his exclusive album launch at Monte Casino, Fourways, on Thursday evening. Speaking about dedicating the song to AKA, the Sponono hitmaker said although they might have been considered enemies, he was affected by AKA's murder as he used to draw inspiration from him.

He added that AKA also motivated him to do better.

The celebrity boxer, who has dubbed his newest release his "favourite", said the 11-track album is entirely rap.

"This is a rap album. It's fully rap," Nyovest said. "This, for me, is my favourite album. It's my best album because I'm just myself – I didn't sing and judge myself. It's also my most simplest album."

Earlier in the week, Nyovest harshly clapped back at a social media user who said his 018, released last week, "is not nice at all". The track features Maglera Doe Boy.

"To be honest, I think o bua marete (you're talking balls)! 018 is a banger!!" he said in response. "The album is dropping Friday, doe; maybe you'll like something from there."

Speaking further about Solomon, Nyovest said he was "the most vulnerable" with himself as he worked on the highly-anticipated body of work.

"I'm so excited about this album; I know people have been waiting for it, and this is where I'm the most vulnerable and myself. I'm in a different headspace, and I hope it inspires people to find themselves, be more true to who they are and have fun," he said.

"I had a good time creating this work; I wasn't fixated on selling platinum or gold but to express myself, celebrate, grieve, feel and just be myself, and I think I have achieved it with this work," he said.
