Manchester United will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Thursday, with several key players' fitness still in question.

United are coming off a 2-1 derby victory over Manchester City and will be hoping to build on that momentum.

However, manager Ruben Amorim faces decisions regarding the travelling squad after Wednesday's training at Carrington, with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford among those being assessed after missing the City match.

"We have one more training [session] but it's the same situation as the other players," Amorim said of Garnacho and Rashford. "If they train well, I have to make a choice. We will see at the end of the training.

"I expect the best of each player every day, so we will see after this training.

"No [I've not spoken to Marcus yet]. We gave a day off to the lads. He's our player and he's ready for the next game."

The Red Devils, who won the Carabao Cup in 2023, also have concerns over Noussair Mazraoui and Mason Mount, both substituted during the Manchester City match.

Luke Shaw, absent for the derby due to injury, remains a doubt. Toby Collyer and Jonny Evans, who trained over the weekend, could be in contention for the tie.

In goal, Altay Bayindir, who featured in previous Carabao Cup rounds under former manager Erik ten Hag, could continue between the posts.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are struggling with a number of injuries. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both suffered injuries in their defeat to Chelsea, leaving Spurs with defensive concerns.

Richarlison is sidelined, and Rodrigo Bentancur remains suspended after a rejected appeal.
