In a gripping encounter at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday, Cape Town Spurs showcased their determination and skill, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Casric Stars.

The triumph gives them a crucial advantage in the PSL Promotion/Relegation Playoffs, fuelling their hopes of ascending to the prestigious DStv Premiership.

Ashley Cupido nailed a stunning-headed effort from close range to ensure Spurs leave KwaMhlanga with a crucial three points.

Spurs, Casric, and Maritzburg United, have an unwavering thirst for promotion to the highly coveted Premiership and are locked in a fierce playoff competition.

In this playoff format, each team participates in a mini-league, engaging in a total of four matches. The reward for a victory is three points, while a draw earns a single point.

A defeat leaves the team empty-handed.

The ultimate goal is to accumulate the most points over the course of the two-week playoffs, ultimately securing promotion to the Premiership.

Spurs, mentored by Bafana Bafana legend Shaun Bartlett, concluded the regular season in an impressive second position, showcasing their mettle throughout the campaign.
