Goedeman Opens Up On Manyama Impact At City - iDiski Times
Cape Town City midfielder Taahir Goedeman has opened up about the impact Lebogang Manyama has had on his game.
Manyama a former City captain re-joined the side as assistant coach last September following his retirement from playing due to injury in January 2023. Goedeman is playing in the same position Manyama played in and he told iDiski Times Editor Rob Delport in edition 143 of the newspaper, that he chats a lot with his assistant coach and so does the rest of the attackers at City.
The 24 year old adds that the former SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs man is someone as a group of attackers they needed as he is big on players doing extra work to get better.
“A very, very, very big impact on my game!” Goedeman told iDiski Times.
“He talks a lot with me and like, he always tells me like, ‘Don’t be so hard on yourself. The next one is going to come, the next one is going to come’. “
“So he really had a big, big impact on the attackers, especially after the training, doing extra hours, and calling this one to have a chat with him. So I think Lebz is really the person that we needed in the attacking force. He really helps the attacking guys.”
Cape Town City have an opportunity to return to second on the DStv Premiership table on Sunday, as they visit Royal AM. A victory in Pietermaritzburg would see City move one point ahead of Orlando Pirates, although they would still be 11 points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
