Busiswe Mkhwebane has been removed from office, following a bitter and litigious process that is estimated to have cost taxpayers R160 million – and MPs contend that the ousted Public Protector's Stalingrad litigation campaign is almost entirely to blame for this.
The DA's Annelie Lotriet on Monday told the National Assembly that Mkhwebane's conduct in the section 194 inquiry into her fitness to hold office had amounted to "a reckless abuse of taxpayers' money".
