Brighton have endured a tough week after crashing out of the FA Cup to Manchester United on penalties before then losing 3-1 at Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Wolves are eight points clear of the relegation zone and are one win away from securing their place in the top-flight next season.

They ended Crystal Palace’s unbeaten run last time out thanks to a 2-0 win and will hope to take advantage of Brighton’s little blip.

Brighton vs Wolves: What has been said?

Julen Lopetegui believes Wolves still have work to do to stay up.

He said: “No, we have to work a lot for our aim and for sure get more points.

“I am happy, of course, and it’s an important victory, but we have to continue working and trying to get more points.

“It has been a very hard match and we played against a very good, very strong team.

“They have played the last matches at a very high level, and that’s why I highlight the effort and victory today.”

Brighton gaffer Roberto De Zerbi said: “We deserved to lose the game, we played well for the first 35 minutes in the first half and then we lost energy.

“We didn’t change too many players from Wembley. We knew it was a very tough game, but we could have scored more goals in that 35 minutes, and then we lost the spirit and energy.

“It’s a difficult period for us because we are not used to playing three games in a week. We have to use it because we will play eight games and we have to fight to reach our target.

“For sure, I am honest, and I don’t want to speak in this way when we lose the game. I am proud of my players today [even] when we lost the game.”
