Follow live coverage as Brentford face AFC Bournemouth today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:
Brentford FC 3 - 2 AFC Bournemouth
17:05
A five-goal thriller ends in Brentford's favour as Thomas Frank's team maintain their unbeaten home record in the Premier League this season thanks to a double from Wissa either side of the break. The DR Congo international moves on to seven Premier League goals this season, with his calmly taken second-half finish proving to be the winner, after a first top-flight goal for Damsgaard. Bournemouth were left frustrated by some decisions going against them late on, and their xG of 2.6 compared to Brentford's 1.54 shows they have every right to feel like this was a chance missed. Both sides now head away for the international break with Brentford back in action at Everton on November 23 as Bournemouth host neighbours Brighton.

Bournemouth head to Brentford on the back of a superb Premier League win at home to defending champions Manchester City last weekend which ended Pep Guardiola's top-flight unbeaten run at 32 games. That result followed Andoni Iraola's side beating Arsenal 2-1 and securing a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa in a total of seven points against teams who finished in the top four last season. Hosts Brentford have won just one of their last three league games, but they have won four and drawn once, in a unbeaten start to the campaign on home soil in the Premier League.
