Brentford U18s 2 Watford U18s 3
The team were undefeated in their last two games and they began the game the stronger of the two sides, settling into a comfortable pattern of play.
Chances were few and far between in the opening ten minutes of the game.
Despite the slow start, Brentford took the lead from their first corner of the game as Domeiro Bobb-Semple did well to divert an effort goal wards catching the keeper out from an awkward angle.
The early lead was wiped out though as Isaiah Powis conceded a penalty to the young Hornets. Amin Nabizada stepped up and converted from the spot.
Kristian Shevchenko was in the right place at the right time to convert from close range and give his side the lead just before half-time.
The away side took control of the game following their second goal.
Conor Wolfheimer had to be in the right place to make a good save a Shevchenko shot.
Wolfheimer was called into action as he denied Kashopeoluwa Odiase from extending the lead further.
Odiase was not to be denied on his next attempt though as the Bees failed to clear the ball in the box and the striker pounced smashing into the net from close range.
The game seemed beyond reach but second-half substitute Josh Djoro provided a lifeline, tucking away from close range af
A loose pass at the back gave Nabizada the chance to score his second but Asemokhai did well to retreat back to the goalkeeper’s line and head away from danger.
Set-pieces were the best route to goal throughout the game for the home side and Honor thought he had levelled the scoreline after scoring directly from a corner but the referee disallowed the goal as he believed the goalkeeper was fouled.
The game would end with Watford leaving with the three points.
Bedford's side will next be in action on Saturday 5 October against Coventry City and that will be at Wheatsheaf Park. Tickets for that game are available here.
