Bayer Leverkusen, managed by Xabi Alonso, managed to secure a point in Munich by drawing 1-1 against Bayern in a match where they had to rely on resilience and defensive stability.

The draw breaks Bayern's winning streak under Vincent Kompany; however, they remain unbeaten across all competitions and maintain their lead in the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen took the lead in the 31st minute thanks to Andrich's goal. This was the first shot on target for Leverkusen and remained so throughout the first half, during which Alonso's team struggled against Bayern's high pressing.

Bayern controlled possession and won most individual battles for the ball. The match was predominantly played in Leverkusen's half, prompting Alonso to gesticulate frequently, urging his team to push up.

What Bayern lacked, aside from the goal, were clear chances. The few attempts they had were long-range shots, with the most dangerous being a free-kick by Michael Olise that flew just over the crossbar.

The equalizer came quickly—just eight minutes later—in the 39th minute, when Pavlovic struck a spectacular volley from about 25 meters after a deflected clearance by Tapsoba from a cross.

Notably, the second half featured a double chance for Bayern when Serge Gnabry, after a brilliant cross from Harry Kane, first hit the post and then the crossbar.

Although Leverkusen appeared less trapped in their half during the second period and ventured forward more often, the chances continued to favor Bayern, who had opportunities to secure a winning goal.
