Josip Stanišić will miss six weeks per Bild or “at least two months” per Sky Sport.

Josip Stanišić’s return to Bayern Munich after his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen hasn’t been the smoothest of comebacks, as it appears that he has suddenly picked up another injury that will sideline him for the coming weeks — just before the start of the season.

Speaking before the friendly against FC Grasshopper Zürich, board member Max Eberl revealed that Josip Stanišić had to undergo surgery:

Eberl added that the surgery took place this morning, further wishing Stanišić well: “We wish him a speedy recovery.”

Further confirmation from the club reveals that Stanišić picked up the injury yesterday — a tear in the lateral ligament of his right knee (via FCBayern.com).
