Three observations from Bayern Munich's 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb

Bayern Munich

A roller-coaster of a match may have had some Bayern Munich fans calling for head coach Vincent Kompany’s sacking at 3-2... but it was nothing but euphoria when the dust settled and the Bavarians emerged victorious at 9-2.

These games do not usually prove to be a challenge for Bayern but it was an exciting to start to the new Champions League for Bayern Munich.

Kompany ball continues to show its defensive cracks

For a second there, Bayern looked like it was going to have a full collapse after conceding two quick goals to make the game 3-2. Defense has not been Bayern’s strong suit in some years now, but it is certainly something Kompany and team will need to improve. Clearly, the team has no issues in confidence though.

Welcome to the Harry Kane show

Kane racked up 4 goals on the night, three coming from the penalty spot. Kane wants some silverware badly this season and he is well on his way for at least the personal accolade of being the competition’s top goalscorer after this match. What a performance.

Olise finally getting in his groove

Michael Olise has shown signs of brilliance so far this season, but the young winger had not done enough yet to prove his worth until this match. Picking up two goals in his Champions League debut could be the start of a big rise for the Frenchman. Olise has massive potential and Bayern will need to fulfill it in order to fight for this season’s title.
