Navas open to Barcelona move

Keylor Navas is open to moving to Barcelona following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s potentially season-ending injury, Mundo Deportivo reports. Ter Stegen could be out for nine months after undergoing surgery following a knee injury, prompting Barcelona to consider their options.

And it is believed 37-year-old Navas, the ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper who is now a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, would be willing to answer an SOS call from the club.

Mundo Deportivo adds: “Keylor, who won three Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, finished his contract with PSG on June 30 and since then has been training daily in his country [Costa Rica] while waiting to resolve his future, which is in the hands of [agent] Jorge Mendes, another factor that, if Barca decide to reinforce the goal, could help to finalise the operation

“And the Portuguese super agent has already done several businesses with Barcelona and the relations with the Catalan club are excellent.”

Bravo also ready to save the day

Navas is not alone with being linked to the Catalan giants, with multiple outlets picking up on quotes from 41-year-old former Manchester City and Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, who told WinWin All Sports (via the Daily Mail): “If Barcelona want me, I will be ready to come out of retirement.”

Bravo joined Barcelona in the same summer as Ter Stegen, in 2014, with the pair being rotated by competition. The Chilean starred in La Liga and Ter Stegen played in the Copa del Rey and Champions League, as Barcelona won the treble in that debut campaign.

The Mail adds: "Bravo - who has previously gone on record saying he didn't always see eye-to-eye with Ter Stegen - kept 43 clean sheets during his time at the Catalans."

Klopp to Germany if Nagelsmann leaves?

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is Germany's top candidate to succeed Julian Nagelsmann if the latter leaves after the 2026 World Cup, the Daily Mirror writes.

Klopp is taking a sabbatical after departing Anfield in the summer, and after already turning down some roles, the timing of overseeing his national team could suit the German.

The Mirror adds: “With Arne Slot attempting to lead a new era at Liverpool, Klopp is now looking ahead to a new chapter - although he has previously admitted he could retire from management all together after revealing he needed a break from the game.

“Klopp was linked with the England job this summer after the departure of Gareth Southgate this summer, but now the 57-year-old could receive a tempting offer from his home country to coach the national team.”
