Lewandowski's name joins a list alongside such legends as Stoichkov, Messi and Eto'o

More than 65 years have passed since 3 September 1959, the day Barça made their debut in the European Cup at the Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia, Bulgaria. That day, Joan Segarra scored the team's first ever goal in the competition. Since then, and with Robert Lewandowski's goal against Red Star, there have been 701 more, for a total of 702 goals, five of them tonight in Belgrade.

Stoichkov, goal 100

While Segarra's goal was in Bulgaria, the 100th goal was scored by a Bulgarian. On 3 November 1993, Hristo Stoichkov opened the scoring in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 at Austria Vienna, one of two goals he scored in a 2-1 win.

200 to 400

Almost seven years later, on 13 September 2000, Patrick Kluivert scored the 200th goal in a 4-0 win against Leeds at the Camp Nou. The 300th goal was then scored by Samuel Eto'o, in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 game at Chelsea on 22 February 2006, and David Villa got the 400th on 29 September 2010 in a 1-1 draw at Rubin Kazan.

Messi and Wembley

Leo Messi had to be on this list. He scored Barça’s 500th goal in Champions League history on 30 September 2014, but the game ended in a 3-2 defeat at the club he would later join, PSG.

The 600th goal was at Wembley, and the scorer was Ivan Rakitić with a fantastic volley against Tottenham on 3 October 2018, a game Barça won 4-2.
